Biography

Léïla Brédent

Léïla Brédent was born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, part of the French West Indies. After a Bachelor’s Degree in musicology in France, she studies singing art in Paris with Molière Athalys until today. She has benefited from advice from Grace Bumbry, Barbara Hendricks and June Anderson.

 

 

 

Soprano Lyric, Léïla Brédent’s repertoire includes the roles of Lakmé in Léo Delibes’s “Lakmé”, Konstanze in Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”, Amina in Bellini’s “La Sonnambula”. She as performed several times with orchestra between 2017 and 2020 with success.

 

 

 

On January 31th, 2019, she has made her New-York debut with orchestra at the Schomburg Center for a program dedicated to the Chevalier de Saint-Georges and was invited on March 20th to perform at the closing concert of the International Music Festival of Saint Georges in tribute to Leontyne Price in Guadeloupe where she sang the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto), Violetta (Traviata) and Norma, under the baton of the American conductor Marlon Daniel.



 

September 2019: Golden medal at the 3rd Berliner International Competition in the category voice professional.



 

On October 29th, 2020, she is invited to sing the aria of Konstanze « Martern aller Arten » from Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail by the national network France 2 at the “Grand Echiquier” under the baton of the maestro Lionel Bringuier.

 

 

On July 2021, Leila Brédent was on tour with the “Orchestre National d’Avignon” under the baton of the maestro Julien Chauvin where she has performed Mozart et Vivaldi.

 

 

On December 2021, performed the role of Zerline in Mozart’s « Don Giovanni » in 3 performances organized by Carib’Opéra.

 

 

On April 2022, Leila Brédent performed on the stage of the «Théâtre des Champs-Elysées» alongside 7 other international artists in « Afica Lyric’s Opéra »’s concert with the « Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine » under the baton of the maestro Sébastien Billard. She sang Manon from Auber and "The tales of Hoffmann" from Offenbach.

 

 

 

At the end of April 2022, she went to Cuba for the recording of the anthem « De Louis Delgrès à l’Univers entier » with orchestra.

On July 25th, 2022, she performed for a recital in the “Cathédrale of Fort de France”

On October 1st, she is invited by the Association “Amalgame Humani’s” to sing for a charity recital for a young Guadeloupeen dancer Lenny Terriat who was accepted at the dance school of La Scala of Milan.

 

On November 25th, 2022, Léïla Brédent performed at the  MUCEM of Marseille for a recital from the event “Les amitiés de Maryse Condé”.

 

Award winner of  "Vénus de la réussite" in the category “Paroles d'artistes” awarded by the association “Expressions de France” in a ceremony et the “Palais du Luxembourg” on december 17th, 2022.

On March 4, 2023, she performed on the stage of the Artchipel Scène Nationale in Guadeloupe ​

 

June 18, 2023, Recital of French melodies and Requiem by Fauré with orchestra at the Temple de l'Oratoire du Louvre ​

 

October 2023, she performed the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" in Nîmes ​

 

Leïla Brédent performed in December 2023 in the Saint-Georges Music Festival with orchestra under the direction of Maestro Marlon Daniel.

She performed several duo recitals with the Mezzo-Soprano Yue Shi during the year 2024​
